Diving in Alor with Aurora Liveaboard
After few years since my first time came to Alor, I finally came back to this awesome archipelago.
In partnership with Dune Aurora Liveaboard, I sailed from Maumere then went to Adonara, Lembata, Wetar, Komba and Alor. For some islands that I sailed, it was the first time.
I spent 11 nights and 12 days at sea on the Aurora Liveaboard diving East Nusa Tenggara. Thanks to the experienced, knowledgeable crew, I had an incredible time while I'm there!
Here’s what it’s like diving Alor with Aurora Liveaboard.
MV Aurora
For the diving excursion of a lifetime, we stayed onboard this beautiful wooden boat, which had seven cabins and two VIP cabins.
The vessel can accommodate up to 16 - 18 guests at one time.
The rooms are made with beautiful woodwork, and have a built-in AC unit.
All bathrooms offer a rain shower/hand shower combo which feels amazing after a dive!
The main deck of the MV Aurora is comprised of the wheelhouse, the dining room and lounge area and the dive deck, with a sun deck on the upper deck.
The local dive guides on Aurora boat made the experience extremely incredible.
They are experienced divers who guided a lots of dive sites in Indonesia. Such Bali, Komodo, Sulawesi, Flores, Alor, Banda Sea, Maluku and Raja Ampat.
They're knowledgeable about every dive site, currents and the local marine life, so their pre-dive briefs were super helpful.
The crew was putting safety at the top of everything.
They always ensured that procedures were followed to keep us safe on and off the boat.
They always tried to make the trip always fun at same time.
The liveaboard offered diving equipment for rent, so if you haven’t purchased your own gear, or don’t have enough room in your luggage, Aurora Liveaboard has great rental options.
As a bonus, they offered Nitrox for free to all of the Nitrox-certified divers.
